My name is Jane Hratko, and I was a student on the 2023-2024 National Security Language Initiative for Youth academic year program in Rabat, Morocco. NSLI-Y is a fully-funded, merit-based scholarship offered through the U.S. Department of State for high school students to study critical languages abroad. 

 

I participated in NSLI-Y twice to study Arabic: first for a summer and then for an academic year. Other languages offered include Mandarin Chinese,  Korean, Indonesian, Hindi, Tajiki Persian, Turkish, and Hindi.

 

I am currently a student at Georgetown University.
